The Jury's Out

The Jury's Out is a self-paced online programme for people stuck in relationship deadlock: unsure whether to stay, leave or give it more time. It was created by Lisa and Lori Jury, two London psychotherapists with nearly fifty years of clinical practice between them. It's my first commissioned project.

The brief

Down to earth and plain speaking, in a category that usually leans sweet and fluffy.

What I'm making

The brand covers a wordmark, typefaces, colour and a short usage guide. The website is responsive and usable by keyboard and screen reader, and introduces the programme, a free check-in and a dedicated safety and support page.

Design rules

Designing for a vulnerable moment

People come to the programme at a hard time in their lives, so the design follows a few firm rules.

Safety is one tap away

Safety information is always one tap away, even with the companion open.

A guide, not a person

The AI programme companion has to read clearly as a guide, not as a person or a support service.

No scores

Nothing on the site counts, scores or gamifies progress.

Case study incoming
